Another Corona hobby, bought myself a TIG welder, made myself a welding spot. Found an old small square workbench online and fitted a metal plate on top (connected to the ground clamp of the welder) & the extractor hood is salvaged from our old kitchen. Took some lessons and started baking metal.
the welder is a Parweld (too lazy to lookup the details) working fine so far.
Welding
Rack
The rack for my motorcycle spare parts in the garage was starting to fall apart, so my first project was to make a new sturdier metal framed rack.
Started with the horizontal bits.
Then welded the vertical bits to the horizontal bits.
Dragged the rack to the correct place.
Added the wooden planks
And put all the stuff back in the rack.
Stool
My second project was to make a high & narrow stool to sit on when I'm welding.
It is made from some left over metal I had lying around.
and the finished product.
Ammo Can Stove
The idea came from watching this video on youtube ,which is apparantly based on the " Minuteman Rocket Stove".
The idea is to weld an smaller "inner" combustion chamber into the ammo can and add (special high temp) insulation so the outside of the ammo can does not get too hot and all the heat goes via the chimney.
The chimney is on the left, the area on the right is where you can add the wood, it has a hinged plate to improve the airflow.
The finished & painted product. (heat resistant paint of course)
and testing if it actually works (which suprisingly it did).
There is now also a chimney and some internal racks to improve the burning process but no picture of these (yet).
Bladesmithing
Something different but in the same line (aka also involves a sharp metalic thingy)
